Sunny Sam Enterprises LLC was founded in 2025 by Sam Lashley, an authority in natural hazards and weather preparedness, following a distinguished career spanning over 32 years with the National Weather Service (NWS).
Sam retired as the Warning Coordination Meteorologist (WCM) for the NWS Indianapolis office, a role he held for nearly six years. In this critical leadership position, he was entrusted with the oversight of the NWS Impact-Based Decision Support Services (IDSS) program for central Indiana. This included coordinating vital operational weather support—most notably, serving on shifts for the Indianapolis 500 race, where precise forecasting is a matter of public safety. Furthermore, Sam served as the primary NWS Indiana State Liaison, forging essential partnerships with key government agencies such as the Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS) and the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT).

Subject Matter Expertise: Serving as a vital participant and consultant in comprehensive natural hazard exercises.
Data Program Leadership: Leading programs for detailed weather and climate data services for over 20 years.
Public Education: Developing and delivering influential weather and climate presentations to thousands of people, from small professional groups to large public assemblies.
